AMS-IX Bay Area is a neutral Internet exchange, offering high quality IP peering and interconnectivity services in San Francisco/San Jose since September 2014. AMS-IX Bay Area is built according to AMS-IX’s successful and proven European business model. Moreover, it is the second Internet Exchange of AMS-IX USA Inc. that was founded as a reaction to the Open-IX initiative. This initiative was started by a group of Internet network operators, content owners and distributors and other market parties, such as data centers, that encourages the development of the neutral and distributed Internet Exchange model in North America.
